I’m Ligang Du, though most people call me Leon.
More than a decade ago, I founded Beansmile in Guangzhou. Since then, we’ve stayed focused on e-commerce, cross-border business, and digital products, serving more than 100 clients worldwide. We’ve built e-commerce products and technology solutions for brands such as Mead Johnson and Dettol, and have also worked with global brands including the NBA. Today, our team spans Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles.
Cross-border has always been a major part of what we do. We help international brands enter China while also helping Chinese users and businesses connect with the rest of the world. Through the WeChat ecosystem, we’ve helped brands such as Eurostar, Frankfurt Airport, Neos, and LAAX connect with Chinese travelers, while supporting international brands such as Flexform and Frescobaldi in building their presence in China. Our team has won multiple awards and championships at WeChat Developer Challenges (WDC).
We’ve also built strong relationships with major technology and commerce platforms and their ecosystems. Beansmile is a partner of the Google Export Acceleration Center (EAC), a Shopify Partner, and an official WeChat partner.
In recent years, AI has become a natural extension of that journey. I founded Beansmile AI and have since launched AI products including QuickImage, VibeSuits, LearnCraft, and Aida, applying AI across e-commerce, content, enterprise knowledge, and cross-border growth.
Beyond building our own products, we bring this experience into traditional industries, providing AI consulting and product services for sectors such as home furnishing and lighting. We work with industry organizations including the Guangdong Custom Home Association, China Lighting Network, and Ningbo Lighting & Electric Appliances Association, helping businesses put AI to work in real-world operations.
I’ve been a long-time participant and sponsor of the Ruby community, and I’m also active in the Vue community / VueConf. I’ve always believed that a great technology team matters just as much as a great product.
Outside of work, I travel and take photographs, capturing light and stories along the way.
